Glass manufacturing
Production
Production takes place at two pot furnaces. At the smaller one all freehand drawn pieces are formed - while still being hot - into glass objects like glass flowers or glass animals.
At this furnace visitors can also blow their own vase. After cooling and grinding the vase can be taken home.
At the large furnace all articles being blown into a mould, like vases and bowls, are manufactured. There are always several glassmakers working hand in hand at the same time.
"The pot" is the concrete tub in the furnace that contains the melted glass. At about 1250 degrees Celsius the glass mass is viscous and transparent. About 550 kg of molten glass are processed every day.
